Manchester United boss Ralph Rangnick is hopeful that defender Raphael Varane will return to the field to help the team against Liverpool on Tuesday.
The France international centre-back has been struggling with injuries this season. Most recently, he had muscle problems that didn’t help the ufabet team in last week’s 1-0 defeat at Everton, including the latest in a 3-2 home win over Norwich City on Saturday night.
Recently, Rangnick revealed that Varane was close to returning to the field again. But will have to see if they can help the team in their away game at Anfield on Tuesday, while Edinson Cavani, Scott McTominay, Fred and Luke Ch. aw hurt
“I think it’s Raphael Varane, he’s a guy who’s really hoping to come back at least one of the two games against Liverpool or Arsenal,” Rangnick said.
“As for the other players I don’t see it coming back in the next few days.”
This season, Varane has made just 25 appearances in all competitions, 18 of which took place in the Premier League. And still can’t score a goal for the team.
Shaw, McTominay, Fred and Cavani are not expected to return for the trip to Jurgen Klopp’s title-chasing side in midweek. Shaw in particular looks as though he may have already played his final game of the season, having had bolts taken out of his leg after limping off against Leicester.
There is better news though regarding Varane. The defender has been a big miss for United when he’s been absent this season, but Rangnick was able to offer up some hope ahead of Liverpool.
